Prologue
Ever since the day in the year 2159, when the warping technology was perfected, the Human civilization was in turmoil. The developed nations now had all the resources in the galaxy. There was an explosive growth in their economy. This meant one thing: the developing and the underdeveloped countries were doomed further. Soon, the balance was completely lost and the underdeveloped nations were totally at the mercy of these super powers. The advanced nations feared they would lose their superiority and deemed it dangerous to share their space faring knowledge with the technologically younger ones. Although there were pacts that assured help for these nations, there were always loop holes which were exploited by the corrupt officials in the long line of command. In less than a year, poverty and famine struck these nations and an all-out war between the developed and developing nations broke out.
One would think with the advanced technologies and fed conditions, the developed nations would have won the war in a blink of an eye. But that wasn’t the case. The developing nations knew what was at stake. Their freedom! Being highly desperate, they put up an excellent fight. Having no options, the developed nations allied together calling themselves the Galactic Alliance while the developing and underdeveloped nations came together as the Legion. Everyday thousands of people died on both sides. The seemingly endless war met its end when finally the Alliance got their hands on Implants which made it an absolutely one sided war. The Alliance soldiers were injected with these Implants that gave them super human powers. The Legions were thrashed in less than a month after its invention.
On January 28th, 2162, the war completely ended when all the Legions surrendered to the Alliance, who made them their slaves. With virtually unlimited resources at their disposal, the Alliance used the Legions as manual labour and constructed the very first artificial Planetoid, Ecohul. It took one whole decade to be completed. Eventually, all the elite, i.e. the Alliance, moved to the Ecohul and the Legions were left on the depleting planet. While some saw this as an improvement since they were freed from slavery, most were enraged at the disgrace.
The Legion formed again. Although, the Alliance was careful enough not to leave any of their technological information down in Earth, the Legions were clever enough to piece all the traces and finally, after nine long years of hard struggle, they mastered the Warping Technology in secret. But still, that wasn’t enough to win against the Alliance as they have grown tremendously over the last nine years. They have discovered six other habitable planets and have built numerous planetoids. The Legions were frustrated at how far behind they still were and decided to do something drastic.
The Alliance was keeping an occasional eye on the Legions who were acting as if they were going about their life normally and eventually forgot about them. This was their biggest mistake, because they never realized that the Legions had space faring ships and mass destructive weapons. The Legions, having successfully tapped into the Alliance’s transmissions, gathered information to plan their attack. The Alliance had been building a humungous Planetoid in the Crux Arm and was planning to make it their Central Command. This sounded as the best hope for the Legions. They mass produced their fighter ships with the limited resources on the planet and readied themselves for the day when the Planetoid Dillis’ construction was complete. The day came sooner than they expected, but nevertheless, they didn’t back down. Every one of them boarded their fighters and zoomed out of the atmosphere. The Alliance having spotted heat signatures that was not theirs were stunned and converged all of their forces over Earth. But it was too late. The Legion Fighters had warped to the Mimosa system.
The Legions’ plan was not to fight them right then. They planned to take over the biggest asset of the Alliance. And they were successful. When they reached Dillis, it had the least defence as most of the Alliance forces were at Earth right then. They sliced through and took over the Planetoid. By the time Alliance realized what had happened and tried to take Dillis back, the Legions had it totally under control. It wasn’t difficult for them to keep Alliance at bay using their Fighters and Dillis’ powerful defence systems. The second war was very short lived and this time the Legions won it. The Alliance had no other way but to give up on their largest Planetoid. It was a big success for the Legions and a very big loss for the Alliance. Both sides retreated, for the time being. The Alliance making up their losses, while the Legions planning their next attack against the still majestic Alliance forces.
It is now year 2171. And it is experiencing the calm before the storm…
